SHARE MY HARVEST by Alan Merryweather
A MERRYWEATHER FAMILY OF MERE AND SEDGEHILL, WILTSHIRE, ENGLAND THROUGH THREE CENTURIES. Including a history of the American Loyalist AMIEL family with notes on other related families of CHANDLER, CULLIMORE, MABBUTT, ANDERSON and WELSH

This fully referenced, illustrated book of c. 80,000 words is the result of nearly 40 years research. It has an account of some Wiltshire Merryweather's and my own ancestors from their 1706 farming origins to prosperity in the mid 19C.
It covers the family's involvement in the 18C Dorset Methodist movement, a fully documented 18C defamation of character lawsuit, emigration to Australia and death during the American Civil War in North Carolina.
A diary kept by a WW1 soldier for almost the whole of 1917 has been transcribed in full and tells a sad tale of illicit love, and death in Northern France.

It includes an account of the Amiel family, from 1685 at Marseille, emigration to Guadeloupe, some involvement in the Salem witchcraft trials, and is particularly rich in detail from PRO documents dealing with claims for loss of property and money arising out of the American
Revolution.
This once-prosperous Boston family provided many British army officers who served all over the world including the siege of Quebec and much Indian service.
Information about a Gretna Green marriage to an illegitimate heiress, Chancery lawsuits, an appointment as a secretary to the notorious John Paul Jones, sojourns in the Fleet prison has been discovered and byways include command of a semaphore station.
