From a Letter to Alan Merryweather 3 April 1894 from Mr Victor George Merryweather of 59 Monmouth Close, Valley Park Chandlers Ford, Eastleigh, Hampshire comes some of the information on Herbert (Bert) and his children.
Herbert was a confectioner (Cake maker) and worked in a bakers at Highbury, he met his future wife Ellen in the shop as she worked as aassistant, she a came to London from Toynton All Saints, Lincolnshire, where she worked in Boston.
They moved to Cambridge cer 1900 to buy a General Corner Shop Ellen ran the shop and Herbert worked for St Cathrine's College as a confectioner, he then joined the Army in the first World War.

Will 1666. My body to be bueried in the chancell of West Halton, I will that the whole summe , which shall clearly remaine of my goods, after discharge of my debts and some other small legacies, hereafter to be mentioned, as also the charges of proving
