I am the grandson (x4) of Myrtilla Merryweather and William Barret by
their child Lucy Barret (and her husband Charles Barrow Thorpe).
Researching here in the USA, I have found information on Lucy and her
descendants after they came to the US (1866), but had minimal information
on family connections in
England. I would be extremely grateful for any information you are able
to provide.
I would be happy to provide what little information I have on the family.
The 1870 and 1880 US censuses also list some additional Merryweathers
listed in close proximity to where Myrtilla (Merryweather) Barret lived
after immigrating to the US, but I've been unable to match them to any on
your site. I have some information on Charles Merryweather (Lucy
Barret's first
cousin) as he married Charles Barrow Thorpe's niece, Harriet in the USA
(it's a small world isn't it). Most of this information is from the
on-line resources HeritageQuest.com and Ancestry.com so I suspect it
won't be new to you. I wish I had more to offer. If you would like
