In 1865 he was in Marion County OR. Nani has an abstract of Assessment
and Census for year 1865. His first wife gave him a son William. She died
on the Oregon Trail giving birth in Salt Lake City Utah and is buried
there.
On the 1870 census is show another child Minnie 3 years old born Oregon.
Do not know but she must have died. young.

George MERCER and Lucy Sophia OATIS DAVIS married 28 Jan 1862 by John
BOSTON JP with Theodore Sylvester OTIS. WHO WAS DAVIS? What happened to
him? Could they have come across the trail together.?
