In NE Hist Reg. Vol 21 pg 138 Says Judy taken with 2 sisters but they were
rescued. Says He was left a widow with six young children, the oldest 14
and the youngest 2.
In magazine Hobbies Nov 1970 It states: Judith married John TUTTLE Jr at
the time of the massacre 1689 at Dover Judith's father, brother and
sister were slain and her fathers garrison was burned to the ground by
the Indians. She was taken captive with her two other sisters, all young
girls, and carried away. The Indians on there way to Canada were
overtaken by a party of soldiers and the girls were returned to Dover. On
7 May 812 while attending to some business at his mill, her husband John
TUTTLE accompanied by their eldest son Thomas was overpowered and slain
by a band of Indians left a widow with six children the eldest being 14
and the youngest two years old.
