Stephen the second son was made a Capt of grenadiers at age 37 at the
outbreak of the French and Indian War and was put in command of an
expedition to Nova Scotia, being ordered enlist 40 to 50 Indians to his
side. He encounter many hardships and had to retreat. Returning from war
he operated a tannery up to the time of his death. His son Ensign
succeeded him in burliness. Two other sons were physicians; Dr. Isaac
graduate of Harvard in 1738, and Dr. James of Scituate. A Dau Mary born
14 Jan 1653 married Lt Col John GORHAM of Barnstable 14 Feb 1675. She
died April 1733
There maybe a son James who had a son Dr. Cushing OTIS. and one named
Ephraim
