These were my great-grandparents. Fred Arthur Hoy was born 17 July 1855
in Manchester, Washtenaw County, Michigan. His wife, Jennie Lynn Nash
was born 27 May 1863 in Hale Township, Warren County, Illinois. They
married on the 14th, not the 13th, of June 1893. Both died in 1929.
They had 5 children - Ralph G., Cora Elizabeth, Fred Arthur Jr., Robert
Lee, and John Nash Hoy. Note that the birth certificate for John Nash
Hoy gave his name as Willie Nash Hoy. He went by John for as long as I
knew him.
As you can see, Jennie would have just turned 12 years of age in 1875.
That doesn't seem like a likely match for a man who was off fighting in
the Civil War at the time she was born. All records I have found refer
to Miss Jennie Nash at the time of her marriage to Fred Hoy. I'll look
into the Samuel A. George marriage though and see what I might find. I
see that Mr. George enlisted from Warren County for the Civil War, but
was not among the voters listed in 1877, nor found in the 1880 census of
Warren County. I cannot find the marriage you refer to in the Illinois
Marriage Index

Found a marriage for a Jennie NASH to Samuel A GEORGE 4 Jul 1875 can't
proof yet. Found on CD for Warren Illinois, USA Sure of HOY. so both are
probably right.
