married Susanna WALKER 22 Jan 1575 Ingham Lincoln, England. No other info.

King Henry III 1227 Record office list: Jhn, son of Merewant-Meranwyrthe
one BOvate of land at Owmby by Normanby which is five miles west of
Market Rasen.
This John was the son of William of Mereworth. We may naturall ask what
was the occastion for John leaving Kent and going into Lincolnshire.
After the death of King John the Barons did not wish to have the French
Prince Louis for their King. For the disagreement was not with young
Prince HENRY but with King John. So when Louis invaded Lincoln and
attacked the Castle, the Earl of Pembroke ( who was the Protector of
England at this period_ attacked and defeated Prince ois. There were so
few soldiers killed in this Battle that it was nicknamed " The Fair of
Lincoln" 1217. This may have been the occastion for John of Mereworth
changing his place of residence and settling in Lincolnshire.
There are so many variants of the Family name in these Wills, ranging
from Merewether, Merriweathr, Merryweather, that for the sake of
convenience, the name is spelt Merywether.
