In a magazine Hobbies Nov 1970 I found the following article.
Otis genealogy says; Few families in, New Hampshire, USA or elsewhere
suffered more from the constant assaults of the Indians then the family
of Richard OTIS. He with one son and one daughter was killed in 1689
(this being his father) his wife and child captured and carried to the
French. At the same time a number of his grandchildren were killed and
other made prisoners of the Indians. The few that escaped suffered from
there persons and property of war fare.
From Early Marriages of Strafford. Richard died in 1701 married near 1690
Susanna HUSSEY Born 7 Sep 1667 Daughter of John and Rebecca of Hampton
Some sources say he died but he went to Newport, Rhode Island, USA in
1733 was a ship
caulker. Laster went to sea and is believed to have commanded a vessel
from Providence. He was lost with his ship at sea. Married but wife
unknown.
