Clyde Lee "Bootie" Brownen, 91, Mooresville, died Sept. 30, 2005, at his
residence.
The son of the late Allen Lee and Rose Bell (Brown) Brownen, he was born
Feb. 28, 1914, in Wewoka, Okla. He was the widower of Odell Jewell
(Cherry) Brownen, and Nona Pearl (Bratcher) Brownen.
Brownen was a grain runner for Early Daniel Grain Elevator in Beech Grove
for 25 years, retiring in 1979. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors include a son, Allen L. Brownen, Wilbur; three daughters, Ellen
L. Storm, Monrovia; Phyllis D. Brownen, Mooresville, and C. Janis
Thacker, Martinsville; three stepdaughters, Carolyn J. Bullock,
Mooresville, and Shirley J. Johnson, and Sandy K. Lawyer, both of
Martinsville; 14 grandchildren; several step grandchildren; 25
great-grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren, and three
great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Joyce A. Wallace; two brothers, William Frank and Clarence
Brownen; three sisters, Alvie Brownen, Vera Mae Martin and Myrtle Jones,
and a great-grandson, Nicholas St. John, also preceded him in death.
The service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at Carlisle & Son
Funeral Chapel in Mooresville. The Rev. Brad Colwell will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
